Host foreign students with St Brelade's College
What is Homestay?
Homestay is the provision of a comfortable home environment for a adult or teenage foreign student(s) to stay, while they attend a language course. Homestays include families with children, single people with or without children and working or retired couples.
At St Brelade’s College we have 30 years experience in managing homestays in Jersey. Each year, we place more than 1,500 students of different ages and nationalities in local homes around the island. Student stays vary from one week to a few months. Our British Council accreditation means that we provide clear guidelines and year round support. In fact, we are the only language school in the Channel Islands to receive this.
What will you gain from offering homestay?
You’ll meet students from different cultures and make life-long friends from different parts of the world
Your family will gain real insights into different cultures and customs
You can utilise that spare room to earn extra income, whether it’s just for a few weeks in the summer or more long term.
Our language courses have been growing in popularity, so we are always looking to take on more homestays for the busy summer months, with the option of hosting at other times of year. Students vary in age from 10 years to 60+ and come from countries all over the world. Why not open your door to the rewards of hosting an international student?
